Campground Desciption and details: "The Gateway to the Canadian Rockies" Situated at the northern most part of Kananaskis Country along the Bow River between Calgary and Banff, the Bow Valley is the gateway to the High Rockies and has been a travel route for over 10,000 years. Towering peaks surround the Valley and rare and unusual wild flowers grace the hills and hollows. Look for surprises in this valley - hike up sunfilled canyons or ridges still frequented by elk & sheep; the boil springs at Bow Valley Provincial Park where orchids and hummingbirds thrive, the spring and fall migrations of golden eagles overhead, or witness one of Albertas most prolific trout spawning streams. You can fish for trout & whitefish in the Bow River or enjoy the hiking trails that access backcountry campsites. You may attend award winning interpretive programs in our amphitheatres or hike the seven interpretive trails in the area. You may choose between one of two riverside campgrounds: Bow Valley Campground & Willow Rock Campground.
