Campground Desciption and details: The Pavilion is the main recreation area. It is equipped with a sound system that plays both CDs and cassettes. A large fieldstone fireplace is perfect for curling up in front of to enjoy a good book, quiet conversation with a friend, group social evenings, or even for a short snooze. Activities available in the Pavilion and Jack Muza Dining Hall include: Board games (several provided), Dancing (bring your own music), Ping pong, Magazines and books, Piano, Air Hockey, Fooze ball and Electric keyboard Take advantage of the many wonderful activities Goldeye Lake has to offer. Canoes and row boats are lined up at the dock on Gold-eye Lake. Boats are equipped with paddles, floatation devices, and life jackets. For the adventurous, a swim in the lake will definitely wake anyone up. Goldeye Lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout each spring. Bring your rod and reel and try your luck. Summer fishing and winter ice fishing are both available. If the weather is favourable, skating and ice hockey on the cleared open air pond is a memorable experience. Please bring your own skates and equipment. A well-groomed trail shoulders Goldeye Lake. A leisurely hike on this trail is approximately 45 minutes. The trail is well marked and includes a partial board walk. There are numerous other peaceful trails to explore around Goldeye Centre: old logging roads, seismic lines, cross country ski trails and game trails leading to all sorts of discoveries. Visit the Goldeye office for advice and maps. We can also suggest other hiking trails in the area just a short drive from our Centre. Our large playing field will allow numerous activities to be played at the same time. It includes a ball diamond, a sand volley ball court, horseshoe pit, soccer field, and swing set for the young at heart. Beside the field is a 32-foot climbing wall (insurance and a facilitator are required). Please ask for details on group initiative equipment available to our guests. The winter of 1997/98 introduced an outdoor hot tub, which was extremely well received by guests and staff alike. The hot tub will continue to run from October through June. Fire pits are located in numerous locations. Please check with the office to reserve a pit. The kitchen would be pleased to help you arrange a wiener or marshmallow roast. Goldeye staff can provide you with information on various facilitators who can assist your group with workshops, seminars, or team building during your stay at Goldeye Centre. We can also provide you with information on outdoor activities near the Centre. Activities in the Nordegg area include: Caving, Dog sledding, Fly fishing, Ice climbing, Ice fishing, Kayaking, Rock climbing and Wind surfing.
