Campground Desciption and details: A tradition for over sixty years. A rustic and peaceful atmosphere in the heart of the Kokee Forest in Waimea Canyon State Park. Surrounded by forty-five miles of maintained hiking trails, streams, rare plant and wildlife, the camp offers the following tent camping, hostel and group accommodations: Tent Camping: 2 acres of open field space with a covered fire pit, BBQ area. Rates: $10 per person per night (non-resident); $5 to $7 per person per night (Hawaii resident). Hostel: Weinberg Bunkhouse - total sleeping capacity is fifty in two dorm rooms. Separate baths and kitchens. Rates: $20 per person per night (non-resident); $15 to $18 per night (Hawaii resident). Group Accommodations: Sloggett Lodge - a mountain retreat that sleeps eleven people. Dining and sitting areas, wood burning stove; kitchen facilities available; 800 sq. ft. lanai. Rates: $20 per person per night (non resident); $15 to $18 per night (Hawaii resident). Children age 5 and under are free. Minimum of 5 people weekdays and 8 people weekends (ten people weekends during peak season - May to September).
