Directions to the campground: The North Fork campground is 70 miles southwest of Louisville, KY. Take US Hwy 60 from Louisville to Harned, KY, go 9 miles west on HWY 79 to the campground entrance.
Campground Desciption and details: North Fork Campground is located on Rough River Lake. Rough River Lake lies within the "Clifty" area of the Pennyroyal Region of Kentucky, providing views of ancient sandstone, shale, and limestone cliffs. There are many caverns in the area, including Mammoth Caves, the longest cave system in the world. Important Information Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. The campground is open mid-April to mid-September, and the sites range from $16-$25/night. Attendants are on duty, and the telephone number is (502) 257-8139. Local option prohibits the use of alcohol. No off-road vehicles allowed. Boat Launching Ramp is closed due to high water until further notice.
