Directions to the campground: From Somerset, KY, take Hwy 80 W for 5 mi, turn right on Hwy 1248 and follow for 2 mi. The recreation area entrance will be on the left side of the road at the bottom of the hill.

Campground Desciption and details: Fishing Creek Campground is located on Lake Cumberland approximately 7 miles from Somerset, KY. Shopping, a small grocery store, restaurants, and gas stations are conveniently found nearby. The campground is surrounded by hardwood forests and is settled on a large shaded creek area. A large swimming area adjoins campground and a boating amusement park is nearby. Visitors here enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming just to name a few activities. An abundance of wildlife can be observed including white-tailed deer, fox, and raccoons. The campground offers 47 sites, including 18 tent only sites. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, a playground, laundry facilities, and a swimming area. Important Information Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays. Fishing Creek is open 25 April 2003 and closes 29 September and sites are $17-$24/night. Attendants are on duty and more information about this area may be obtained by calling (606) 679-5174.
