Campground Desciption and details: We are located on the north entrance road to Baxter State Park, 100 miles north of Bangor Maine and 100 air miles northwest of Anchorage in Skwentna, Alaska. We also offer Remote Camping & Hiking, Canoeing, Photography, Snowmobiling and Ice Fishing. Have you ever dreamed of flying out to a remote lodge in the Alaska bush, with all the conveniences of home, delicious home cooked meals, hot showers, phone, fax and world class fishing? Look no further than Conklin's Lodge and Camps on Donkey Creek Lake. Our lodge and cabins are located at the foot of the Yenlo Hills, 100 miles northwest of Anchorage. Your hosts, Les, Marie, Jason and Carlene Conklin invite you to our Beautiful Alaskan Lodge which we will cater to 6 guests per week. Our guests fly to Anchorage and once there you will board a float plane with Regal Air Service for the one hour flight to our lodge. Once you reach the lodge you will realize that you are going to experience the true Alaskan wilderness vacation with no other lodges on the lake and world class fishing at it's finest! Donkey Lake is an excellent northern pike lake. The outlet of the lake runs into Donkey Creek , which is every fishermen's dream for runs of King Salmon, Pinks, Reds, and Silvers. There are many places in Alaska that have fantastic fishing, but if you are looking for fantastic fishing without the crowds, look no further! Our week long packages (Sat.-Sat.) include all home cooked meals, daily maid service, boat and guide, round trip airfare from Anchorage to our lodge, your fishing license, and cleaning and freezing of your fish. Black bear and Grizzly bear hunts can be arranged for those looking for a big game hunt in our area. BAITED BEAR HUNTS---SEPTEMBER We offer 7 nights and a full 6 day hunt to our clients. You will be 1 of only 18-20 hunters per week. We bear hunt for 2 weeks only and maintain over 300,000 acres of leased ground from the paper companies, with rights to bear hunting in these areas. Over 125 sites are maintained by our guides and we supply both 12 foot tree stands or ground blinds, depending on which you prefer. Once the area is hunted, we shut it down until the following season. This assures us of not over harvesting any one area and we are able to offer quality bear. We guarantee that you will be sitting on a site that no one else has been to prior to your arrival. In this way, no matter which week you decide to come, you are getting a fresh and active bait. Feel free to contact us for references. We will supply you with people that have been successful and people who were not. You will see that whether they were successful or not, they will attest to the 100% effort by everyone at the lodge from the guide service to the food and clean comfortable facilities. Our hunts include 7 nights/6 days with all meals, lodging and daily maid service for your cabin each day. We supply all transportation to and from your bait site each day. All bait sites have been pre-baited 30 days prior to the start of the season and are guaranteed to be active. With a limited numbers of hunters taken each week and over 125 bait sites, we can assure you of an active bait. Once you kill your bear, we take care of all the skinning and quartering of the meat along with freezing until your departure. MOOSE HUNTS 100% success: Moose hunting by lottery ONLY. If you're successful in the lottery drawing, our price for our moose hunt is $1800.00 for 2 persons. This includes all meals, lodging, maid service and guide for 7 nights & 6 days. DEER HUNTS---NOVEMBER All of our hunts are 6 nights-5 days (Sun-Sat) and includes all meals, lodging, and daily maid service for your cabin. Our fully guided trips include preplaced tree stands or ground-blinds and a guide with you in the woods at all times. Your guide will employ a variety of methods to show you deer. The degree of difficulty of your hunt will be determined by you. Whether you choose to sit in one of the many tree stands or you choose still hunting, each method is successful with the help of your guide. Our success rate is one of the highest in the northern part of Maine for bucks sporting heavy racks and weighing over 200lbs. field dressed.
