Attractions near the campground: Mt. Desert Island is the home of Acadia National Park - the only National Park in New England and one of the most visited national parks in the U.S. If you are planning to visit the park, we suggest you take advantage of the information available at the Visitor Center located at the Hulls Cove Entrance. You will find information about naturalists tours and talks, a film highlighting the Acadia experience, and maps and books describing carriage roads, trails, wildlife, plants, and ecology. The park includes 51 miles of carriage roads and more than 120 miles of trails.

Directions to the campground: Road Closure Notice: The US-1 suspension bridge at Verona, over the Penobscot Bay near Bucksport, ME, is closed to all diesel pusher motor homes over 24,000 lbs GVW and all motor homes over 38 feet, regardless of weight. This does not apply to fifth-wheels or travel trailers. The closure will be in effect until some of the suspension cables can be replaced, which is expected be in 2005. However, this closure will only affect those who travel between Bucksport and Interstate-95 (at Manchester) on US-3. Map
