Campground Desciption and details: The beautiful hardwood forests of Holmes County State Park are home to an abundance of wildlife, and provide the scenic backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Built around two lakes covering 88 acres, the park offers such diverse excitement as fishing, roller skating, camping and cabin rentals. Holmes County State Park offers easy access to Interstate 55, which bisects Mississippi north and south. The convenient location and diverse outdoor recreational amenities make Holmes County State Park a favorite retreat. Holmes County State Park offers two fishing lakes, both well stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. Fishing is permitted with a fee. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be purchased from the park office for a nominal fee. Fishing boats are available for rental year round. Holmes County State Park features 12 air-conditioned vacation cabins accommodating four to six persons, each furnished with bed and bath linens and basic kitchen equipment. Six rustic style cabins are located near the lake. Six duplex cabins are located in a wooded setting. The Park office is open from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
