Campground Desciption and details: Located on scenic Sardis Reservoir just one hour from Memphis, John W. Kyle State Park offers a wide array of recreational opportunities in an area abundant in natural beauty. The historic campus of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) is just 25 miles away, making Kyle State Park the perfect spot to spend a football weekend. Sardis Reservoir offers 58,500 acres of fresh water for fishing, swimming, and boating enthusiasts. The lake is brimming with catfish, crappie, bass, and bream, and fishing. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be purchased at the park office. John W. Kyle features 20 air-conditioned cabins, furnished with basic kitchen equipment and bed and bath linens. All of the cabins are located near the water, have fire places and accommodate up to four people. Additionally, 2 cabins are located on the Golf Course. Each of these cabins consist of 4 bedrooms and equipped much the same as the other cabins. Reservations are required. The Park office is open from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
