Campground Desciption and details: Secluded in the rolling foothills of the Ozarks, Wilderness Lodge is the perfect retreat from urban sprawl with our twelve hundred acres of woodland trails bordering the Black River. Crystal clear and cool, the Black River remains pristine and a delightful recreational river. Wilderness Lodge was built in 1927 by a wealthy sportsman as a private residence. The majority of the cabins were built in the 1970's, when the Lodge became a commercial venture. Canoeing, rafting and tubing are available. Other activities include hiking on our trails and hayrides. On-ground activities available are the pool, hot tub, and tennis courts to name a few. The Lodge restaurant offers sit-down dining. Our menu is yet another reason our guests return to Wilderness Lodge again and again.
