Campground Desciption and details: Beautiful waterfront on Bogue Sound with boat ramp, pier and recreational shelter overlooking the water. Easy walking to restaurants, shopping and ocean beach. Arrowhead Campground offers you a clean modern campground, constructed and managed with family campers in mind. We are located on beautiful Bogue Banks, one of the famous "Outer Banks" of North Carolina. The campground sits on twelve acres and reaches to the gentle and protected waters of Bogue Sound where almost all types of water activities can be enjoyed including sailing, shelling, clamming, or just taking a leisurely swim. The campground facilities include a boat ramp, pier, protected swimming area, and an outdoor recreation area. While the Sound offers many activities, just a short walk away the blue-green waters of the Atlantic Ocean gently roll on clean and wide white sandy beaches. The beach offers excellent surf fishing, sunbathing, shelling, or just plain relaxing. We have 170 campsites with over 135 full hookups, 30 Amp service and free cable TV service. There is a convenience store for those things you may forget to bring. There are many fine restaurants and gift shops in the area and some are within easy walking distance. The Bogue Banks area offers several golf courses, tennis courts, ocean fishing piers, and a world-famous charter boat fleet available for offshore fishing. Also on Bogue Banks you may want to visit historic Fort Macon and the NC Aquarium where you can view exhibits of coastal NC flora and fauna. Within one hour's drive of the campground are many other interesting attractions. Among them are historic Beaufort, the third oldest town in NC (1713), historic New Bern and Tryon Palace, the U.S. Marine Bases at Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune. We are about one hour from the Cedar Island - Ocracoke ferry and are an ideal stopping place for those heading North or South on this ferry.
