Directions to the campground: FROM COLUMBUS: Take 62 S. to Mt. Sterling. Follow signs to Rt. 207 S. Deer Creek Lk directional signs will be seen. Lake is 8 mi. S. Picnic shelter is on Crownover Mill Rd. Go east (left) at intersection of road. FROM CINCINNATI: Take 71 N. to Mt. Sterling (Rt. 56) exit. Directional signs for Deer Creek Lk. will be seen. Lake is 8 mi. S. of Mt. Sterling on Rt 207. Go east (left) at intersection of Crownover Mill Rd. FROM CIRCLEVILLE: Take 22 W. to intersection of Rt. 207 (approx. 15 miles) Go north in Rt. 207. Follow signs to Deer Creek Lk. Turn right (east) at intersection of Crownover Mill Rd. and Rt. 207. FROM WASHINGTON C.H.: Take 22 east to intersection of Rt. 207, about 13 miles. Go north on Rt. 207. Follow signs to Deer Creek Lk. Turn right (east) at intersection of Crownover Mill Rd and Rt 207.

Campground Desciption and details: Deer Creek Doe Shelter is located below the dam at Deer Creek Lake. The area is very popular for picnicking and fishing. The area is open for use all year, but the shelter is only reserved during the summer months. Electricity is not available at the shelter. There is a drinking fountain located at the shelter along with one large charcoal grill and two smaller charcoal grills. The creek flows within 40 yards of the shelter so fishing is easily accessible. The playground is 40 yards away. Flush toilets are 50 yards from the picnic shelter. The picnic shelter and restrooms are handicapped accessible. Other areas at Deer Creek Lake offer hunting, fishing, boating, camping and hiking. Important Information Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. For more information contact the Deer Creek Lake office at 740-869-2243. Camping is not allowed in this area. No swimming or wading. Pets must be on a leash. Reserving the picnic shelter does not reserve adjacent parking, playground or open space. The park closes at 10 pm except for fishing.
