Directions to the campground: From Toronto, approximately 43 miles East on Hwy. 401 to exit for 115 North to Peterborough. Approximatley 40 miles, you arrive at Peterborough where the 115 turns into Hwy. 7. Take the first exit off Hwy. 7 (Bensfort Road Exit). Turn left at stop sign onto service road. Then, turn right at next stop sign onto Bensfort Road (headed South). Go approximately 5 miles to the end of the road. At stop sign, turn right, come south 1/2 mile, cross over the bridge. We are the second driveway on the left as soon as you cross the bridge.

Campground Desciption and details: Our campground is rustic and unpretentious. Nature surrounds you here. The atmosphere is quiet should you require rest and relaxation, and most people enjoy watching the geese swimming on the river, or the heron as it glides over the river, often landing to rest on the docks. People also enjoy watching the squirrels and chipmunks as they scamper about the property collecting their treasures. The many different species of birds are gratifying to the bird enthusiast. One camper was delighted to watch a deer swimming in the river while he fished from the docks one summer evening. We have planned weekend activities which include adults' games nights (darts, cards, shuffleboard), adult fishing derby for the campground, children's fishing derby for our campers' children, Christmas in July, Halloween in August, and a KID'S CLUB for the children where they play games or make crafts. The campers have an average of one pot luck dinner per month beginning in June and ending in October. Peterborough is the largest community closest to us. Attractions in the area include the hydraulic lift lock, zoo, golf courses, theatres, Art Gallery of Peterborough, Lang Century Village, Hutchison House (the restored house of the area's first doctor), the Petroglyphs (ancient Indian art carvings), and Peterborough Museum and Archives. The Otonabee River suppplies excellent fishing for bass, pickerel, muskellunge, and pan fish. Large seasonal trailer sites are available in addition to daily and weekly camping rates.
