Campground Desciption and details: Loon Lake is known for its unusually pleasant climate. 18 miles from the pacific ocean, the air is dry and warm. Lake views and beach camping. Resturant, store, and fuel in lodge. Fish the lake for trout, bass, blue gill, catfish and carp. Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort camping facilities are open year round, not just during "migration season." Whether you pull up in your RV or just pitch a tent, the resort will welcome you with the best in camping facilities and service. Group sites are available for those looking to camp with a group of friends, or to host your next family reunion. A 6-room motel provides facilities for those wishing to experience a luxurious camping experience that is both convenient and comfortable. Cabins are also available for families looking for a little more privacy. Feel free to bring along your furry, four-legged friend. Pets are welcome, although dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Along with lodging and camping facilities, Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort offers a restaurant, store, gasoline, boat rentals, a boat launch, ice and firewood. The store/restaurant area features a pool table for a little indoor fun. Relax on the large deck and enjoy a view of the lake that is spectacular in summer, fall, winter and spring. At this point, there are not any showers available, but look for them to be installed soon! At the Resort: Enjoy an ideal location for camping, boating, picnicking, and hiking. The resort offers boat access for water-skiing and sailing on Loon Lake. I'm a bit of a fishing expert and I just love the abundance of Large-Mouth Bass, as well as trout and other varieties of fish in the local waters. If you're after bigger game, Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort is also a great "home base" for the hunting season for local Deer and Elk. Be sure to visit the store to see the "trophy" pictures from the hunters. In the Area: Fishing is at its best on the nearby Oregon coast. The sandy beach provides a perfect place for swimming and sunbathing. It's just a short drive to various sights and activities, including the beautiful Umpqua River, the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area, the breathtaking Oregon Coast, and the Oregon National Dunes Recreational Area.
