Campground Desciption and details: Spring Gulch Resort is located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country in Lancaster County, an area perhaps best known for its Amish communities. Life here focuses on time-honored traditions and values and a slower pace. Over five million people visit Lancaster County annually, and many return every year! The Charm of the Amish. Though the area does have its busy streets and modern highways, simply turn off the main roads to be transported back into the traditional Amish atmosphere. You're even likely to find yourself sharing the road with a horse and buggy! Antique shops abound throughout the area. It's the perfect time to purchase a variety of homemade goods lovingly made by the Amish - quilts, antiques, furniture, wall-hangings, gifts, crafts, and more! A Piece of History. The area is also home to several state and local museums and historic sites, some dating as far back as the 1700's. Tour the oldest Mennonite meeting house in America or the walk through the home a former US president. Or visit one of the many classical covered bridges in Lancaster County -- there are still 28 intact today. In the Modern World. Though the area is known as Amish Country, you'll still find plenty of modern day entertainment - play a round of golf, see a Broadway play at one of the local theaters, or ride a rollercoaster at Dutch Wonderland. Hop in a hot air balloon and tour the sites from high above. Or if you prefer staying on the ground, you'll find miles of biking trails to explore. Go mini-golfing, try the slides at a water park, or visit an outdoor petting zoo.
