Campground Desciption and details: The campground was completely renovated in 1997, including a new shower building, which is handicapped accessible, with 30-amp hookup, sewer, and water. Fort Ramsay is situated 3 km from the center of town, overlooking the north side of the Gaspé bay. Also for your convenience we have an on site laundromat, playground, and canteen. Nearby activities or attractions include Forillon National Park, golf, the Gaspé museum, Haldimand beach, whale watching, the MicMac Center, the Jacques Cartier Cross, the Shrine of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows, the Christ-Roi Catheral, the marina, horse back riding, kayaking, and Santa's Plantation. We also are close to 3 world class salmon fishing rivers, the York, Dartmouth, and St. Jean. Due to low salmon stocks in the Atlantic, "Catch and Release" fishing is very popular now on all three rivers. However, if you to decide to keep your salmon, we have bags, ice, and a freezer available for your use. Call us for more details.
