Sprawling for 144.000 acres over the beautiful "piney-woods" area of the Angelina National Forest, Lake Sam Rayburn (with 560 miles of shoreline) is the largest lake which lies completely within Texas. It has earned the title of one of the South's hottest fishing lakes. Anglers from all over the world flock to this giant lake where six pound bass are common. Crappie fishing is also excellent. Rayburn is a nature lover's lake, scenic and uncluttered by heavy commercial development. The lake has alternate wooded areas and open water. Twin Dikes Marina is on the deep end of the lake which makes it the perfect location not only for fishing but also for swimming, boating, and skiing.
